A Little Bit About Me...

As a vocational expert/counselor I have taught, trained,and tested (interest, IQ, aptitude etc) both clients and employees. I worked with average intelligence adolescents and adults. I also assisted the special education teacher at Hanover Learning Center (approximately 7 years)working with mild and moderately impaired adolescents in the classroom. In the vocational and job placement responsibilities, I coordinated, and assisted/taught client to help them obtain their GED.
Naturally I would set goals and objectives (Independent Educational Plan). Depending if the individual's assets or deficits (weaknesses) would determine my teaching style. It was determined by the type of approach that would benefit the individual best. Some people are visual versus audtory, or hands on learners.

I love teaching chemistry and science classes - I am very patient in teaching and attempt to relate the subject to everyday occurences. I believe that all can learn if given the opportunity and drive - people are afraid of the sciences because of the unknown - I bring the unknown to a common place. I love showing examples and bringing the laboratory portion into the class to relate to what is occuring - sometimes chemisty is fearful as it seems to be alot of math - it is but it can be used to help in other subjects. I know teaching is a sense of style but it is also a comfort to me.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have recently completed a Master of Arts in Teaching, where I concentrated on secondary biology. I have a Bachelor of Arts in biological anthropology with a minor in biology. My educational background enabled me to have a strong background in biology, but also in mathematics and all sciences including chemistry. I have worked as an informal environmental educator for about 2 years. This experience includes working in a state park and well known museum in Philadelphia. My diverse educational experiences provide me with necessary skills to adapt to the needs of any learner. I am also a tutor for students in kindergarten through sixth grade.
