Hello, I have been a teacher in central Florida for 6 years. I have always taught at the middle school leve, although my student teaching was done at the High school level. Prior to becoming a teacher I served 5 years in the U.S. Navy. I have also worked with Juinor Acheivement and the Boys and Girls club of America.
My belief is in the child. I am extremely patient and loving. The child sets the pace at which we learn and we would not move on to the next subject until the child completely understands the material.

My comments on tutoring Hearing Impaired : I have a bunch of experience working with Hearing Impaired. I have not been able to assist anyone lately so my signing is a little rusty. I fell that once I get back into communicating normally I will fell comfortable clicking the Experienced or Expert Proficiency box.

There are many teaching styles and I fell that everyone learns differently. I like to find out how someone learns so that I can alter and adjust my teaching style so that everyone can learn quickly and retain an interest in the subject.
When I was small I fell in love with American Sign Language, scene then I have been studying and going to school to learn more about this amazing language and culture. I attended the University of North Florida in Jacksonville and majored in Deaf Education, so that one day I could be a teach for the hearing impaired. I teach by example, by first modeling my expectations or skill. Then letting the students model the skill with me. Then, I allow the students time to practice the skill. I believe the proper term is scaffolding. I am a direct teacher there is no misunderstanding in the messages or instruction that I convey. I am also a good listener and understand when a student is struggling. While earning my degree in physics at the University of Central Florida I found that tutoring was an excellent experience for both my students and me.
