My comments on tutoring Guitar : I've been teaching the basics to guitar for the past 6 years.

I obtained a B.S. in Biology, with a concentration in aquatic science, from Wittenberg University in 2006. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored elementary students in math and science twice a week for two years. After college, I moved into the marine science profession. In August of 2008, I started teaching High School Biology I, Earth and Space Science, and Physical Science to students in Polk County. In addition, after school hours were spent with two students taking AP Biology classes. Both students achieved a 4 or higher on their placement exams. My tutored students reported an increase in their ability to record class notes, study, and take tests. I have been teaching for seven years-mostly math and some language arts. The math teaching included geometry, algebra 1, algebra 2, basic high school math and middle school math. One year my students had the highest improvement in standardized math test scores in the district, for the lower level students. My student test scores have always been high so I retained the scores. I tutored psychology for two years in college for a Buffalo State College program called SEEK, and received many compliments from the students. In Rutherford County, TN, I worked with medically homebound students and found I was very good working with the disabled students. I am also fluent in the Spanish language.

Each child is different. I always try to notice and acknowledge what benefits each student, as I think this applies to all forms of teaching from academics to athletics. Getting on their level is what ultimately benefits the child from the get go and gains their interest. If I'm interested, then the child is interested. I do my best to make sure the child is setting their goals and doing their best to achieve them in the way and style for which they are best suited.
I have two bachelors degrees, however, I believe it is my experience teaching children that has helped me develop a good sense on how to approaching teaching scenarios. I have years of experience teaching children in academics, music, and dramatic arts, as well as coaching basketball and teaching golf at the professional level.
