My comments on tutoring Composition : For three years I taught high school seniors in an Advanced Composition class where they were being "trained" in the specific paper styles that are found in college classes.

I am a very hands-on learner, so I tend to try to make things as hands on or as real to life as possible.
Since graduating from Baptist Bible College in 2006, I have been teaching high school English in Indiana for six years now. I taught three years at Bethesda Christian School in Brownsburg, where I spanned English 9, 10, 11, Senior Speech, and Advanced Composition for seniors. In 2010 I began teaching at Faith Christian School in Lafayette; there I taught English 9, 10, and 11. I was also the Yearbook Advisor two years at Faith. July 1, 2013, I had my first baby, and I have decided to stay at home and raise her instead of returning to the classroom.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Jefferson High School in the spring of 2012. I now attend Indiana University-Purdue University in Fort Wayne. I have two younger siblings and 4 younger step-siblings that I have helped with their homework, or helped them better understand material assigned to them. Their ages range from 8-17. I know how to explain certain subjects in multiple ways to ensure that eventually the student will understand the material. I am very patient, and I understand that some people learn at slower rates than others. I am majoring in nursing, though I considered teaching English before making this decision. I love teaching, and am looking to make some extra money for things I need while in college.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very-hands on teacher. I think the approach to teaching most any subject is making it "real" for students. Helping students to Become Life Long Learners

I have worked with many different ages of children as a tutor and volunteer. I worked for the America Reads program at IUPUI while I was working on my degree. I was a reading coach and was in charge of working with elementary students that struggled with reading and comprehension. I also volunteered as a reading coach for the HOSTS program at Garden City Elementary School. I enjoy teaching students how to become better readers and I plan on finishing my elementary education degree with reading specialty this Spring at IUPUI.
