I have always loved school and find that I miss it at times. Because of that I jump at the chance to help those who need it. I college I helped other students who had math and physics classes. After learning various teaching and learning styles at Indiana State University, I feel it is important to find each child’s unique learning style. After this is accomplished, I then apply the teaching styles that the student will learn best from. I enjoy using visuals and hands-on activities when working with a student. I am a kid at heart and I feel this is why I connect with children so easily. I feel this is equally important when working with children. I have worked with children through a number of ways. I assist children in 4-H during the fair. I help the children in the horse and pony club by educating them on proper grooming and showing techniques. I believe making the information relevant to the student is important. I like to use humor and real-life examples to keep students engaged. I believe that it is important to know how the child learns to be able to present the material to them in the best manner for them which is what I would base my style on. I obtained Secondary Teacher Certification in Social Sciences. I taught high school and middle school Spanish for two and half years at public schools, and completed my student teaching at an alternative school for juvenile criminals. I was an at home teacher for my school district when children were out for extended periods due to illness. I have completed additional continuing education in working with gifted and special needs children.
