A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style varies upon subject and student.
I graduated from Jefferson High School in the spring of 2012. I now attend Indiana University-Purdue University in Fort Wayne. I have two younger siblings and 4 younger step-siblings that I have helped with their homework, or helped them better understand material assigned to them. Their ages range from 8-17. I know how to explain certain subjects in multiple ways to ensure that eventually the student will understand the material. I am very patient, and I understand that some people learn at slower rates than others. I am majoring in nursing, though I considered teaching English before making this decision. My comments on tutoring Composition : For three years I taught high school seniors in an Advanced Composition class where they were being "trained" in the specific paper styles that are found in college classes.

Since graduating from Baptist Bible College in 2006, I have been teaching high school English in Indiana for six years now. I taught three years at Bethesda Christian School in Brownsburg, where I spanned English 9, 10, 11, Senior Speech, and Advanced Composition for seniors. In 2010 I began teaching at Faith Christian School in Lafayette; there I taught English 9, 10, and 11. I was also the Yearbook Advisor two years at Faith. July 1, 2013, I had my first baby, and I have decided to stay at home and raise her instead of returning to the classroom.

My public speaking class is extremely participatory, both so students can gain experience speaking in front of an audience and because this format seems to keep students more interested in the material. My experience teaching children in theatre was also very participatory. I believe that students learn best when they can understand a given concept from several different angles.
