A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked most of my adult life in education or journalism, and I was able to combine my two passions as a journalism professor at the college level for several years. I am currently a visiting lecturer in media studies at Bridgewater State College and a substitute teacher in local schools. I have taught social studies, business and typing in secondary schools. I also have taught in other venues -- as an exercise instructor for youth, adults and disabled individuals, as a word processing instructor, and as an English as a Second Language instructor to new immigrants through Literacy Volunteers of America. I have tutored students privately in subjects ranging from languages to math since 2001. One student has continued French lessons four hours a week every summer for five years. I completed a one-year French as a foreign language course in Martinique. I have taught several French for Beginners adult classes. I substitute teach at the local schools, and cover all ages and subjects (some of which I am more qualified for than others, and in the event I am less qualified, I let the students teach me what they know).
