As a lifelong lover of literature and writing, I have taught students from fifth grade through junior level college literature and writing courses. My MA and PhD degrees have only further accelerated my desire to continue publishing academically in peer reviewed journals. Each student is unique. Therefore, I use a variety of teaching styles, strategies, methods and techniques depending on the individual's needs and abilities. A special needs student may need hands on lessons or visual learning activities. Someone else may be an audio learner. I analyze the situation, differentiate between teaching strategies and implement the most effective one. My success goes beyond the actual lessons or my experience.
