Experience Summary
I began teaching 22 years ago at a middle school and later taught high school when I relocated to the beach. I also tutored at a local community college. The most rewarding aspect of teaching and tutoring is when the lightbulb goes off at the crucial point of understanding in the student's mind.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management and School Leadership. Furthermore, I have 67 additional education credits pertaining to teaching, tutoring, communication and human resources. I feel it's important to stay abreast of current educational trends, research and developments which ultimately affect the teaching style and learning effectiveness of the individuals involved.
Teaching Style
Each student is unique. Therefore, I use a variety of teaching styles, strategies, methods and techniques depending on the individual's needs and abilities. A special needs student may need hands on lessons or visual learning activities. Someone else may be an audio learner. I analyze the situation, differentiate between teaching strategies and implement the most effective one.
My success goes beyond the actual lessons or my experience. It's is due to the fact that I truly love teaching, thrive on the positive interactions and maintain high expectations for myself and the student. I am very flexible, patient and knowledgeable. I strive to meet the needs of the students in order for them to be successful and confident.
