I graduated in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University, and taught fourth grade for 3 years. I relocated to accommodate my husbands job. As a certified and experienced classroom teacher, I have extensive experience teaching all subjects on a whole class and small group level. Violin is one of my top subjects! I have about 9 years of experience with violin. I've played several orchestral works and solo repertoire such as Lalo's Symphony Espagnole, The Firebird Suite by Stravinsky, Partita in E Major by Bach, and other great selections.

I'm Jackie, and I'm a student at UNR. I have two majors: Music Performance (Violin) and Biochemistry/Molecular Biology. I graduated from a performing arts high school in Las Vegas (year 2011), known as LVA (Las Vegas Academy) as an orchestra major. I have about almost 9 years of experience with violin, and I absolutely love it. I taught at the Elementary and Secondary level for 5 years, then moved on to teach in a Community college for 26 years. my subjects were applied music, choir and band in Elementary & Secondary. In college I instructed academic music courses in Theory & Composition, History, Voice, Beginning and advanced instrumental performance. I performed as a music professional for 15 years in the showrooms of Reno, Lake Tahoe and Las Vegas. I have acted as an opera critic for the Sparks Tribune. I specialize in using mental triggers to help in effective understanding and information retrieval (e.g., moving cookies on a table to demo electrical charge). I also teach with analogies to real world scenarios, using sources from around the world, and throughout history.
