As a Special Education teacher at heart, I firmly believe that education needs to be guided by the student. I may have a lesson to teach but I am constantly changing the lesson depending on the individual student. I believe that learning should be a fun experience that is according the the learners pace.
I have been teaching since I was young. I have tutored students since the age of 14 and I have taught students from ages 3 to 18 years old. I have been teaching in the Texas public school system for the last 4 years and I have loved every minute of it! I have taught all grades from Kindergarten to 5th as a special education inclusion teacher. As an inclusion teachers I have been able to teach grade level content to students who understand it but need for it to be taught in a different way. My comments on tutoring Elementary Social Studies : Can improve a student's ability to learn the material given in the social studies book. I teach how to cover the material, learn new vocabulary words, and how to answer the end-of-chapter questions. I teach you how to tackle the vocabulary of social studies, and teach you how to outline the basics in the chapter.

Time spent attending conferences and workshops began to help me learn how to help my severely-dyslexic son and grandson. Then I helped apply some of the concepts learned to help several dyslexic families with the problems they had including ADD/ADHA, organizational, spelling, reading, and comprehension issues. I have been volunteering for several years gaining experience along the way. Every student I have helped has had some kind of learning disability involved and guess those have various levels of dyslexia. In just a few cases have I been successful in getting them to have their children diagnosed. I have recently improved the outcomes of several students who have come to me and taken a complete non-reader and made him into a successful lst grade reader in a relatively short period of time. Explaining, showing, teaching, have always been something that I enjoyed doing. If I can pass on my knowledge to someone new then, my college hardships and achievements, were all worth it. It is up to educators to teach younger generations; without us they will not know anything. After all they, the younger generations, are our future. Upon graduting from college, I became an after-school tutor, grades 4-6, focusing on all levels of homework and emphasis on students who had particular needs. I entered the teaching field in 2005 as a high school English teacher in grades 9 and 12. I learned extensive outlets and skills in regards to test preparation, research, grammar, and real-world applications. My second and third year teaching was in an academy setting focusing on law. A Little Bit About Me...

While in New York State, I was employed through the Alternative Suspension Program as an LVN. While there,I assisted with the teaching of students. This in turn gave me the opportunity to obtain my certification in Teaching. I remained in this position for two years. During this time, I had my own case load of 5-8 students grade 7-12. Following this position, I was employed at a tutor for those youth who were home bound.
I attended college later in life. Recently, the opportunity arose to better myself. I chose Early Childhood Education and then continued on to obtain my Bachelor's Degree.
