A Little Bit About Me...

I have always enjoyed tutoring students and seeing them "get" the subjects we are touching on. The look on their face during this moment is priceless. I fully understand that everyone learns things in different ways. While one student may be able to memorize and understand facts one way, say by repetition, another student may learn the information by understanding the background and context that it comes from. I am very patient and flexible with students and realize that if they do not understand the material that it is not their fault, but rather I need to try a different approach with them. A good education is not only valuable in life, but I feel that students gain self confidence when they see their grades improve and they actually understand their class work. I have many teaching styles in order to reach every student in my classes. My doctorate dissertation focused on learning styles and I have a plethora of ways to help a student reach his/her potentional. Students need a teacher who can provide stability in the classroom and is flexible on learning strategies. I am able to teach a concept and tell if students have understood. If not, change gears and try another method until I can see success.
