Identifying a person’s learning style is the key to successful comprehension of a given subject matter. My teaching style involves recognizing concepts that the person does find interesting to help them relate to and understand what they are trying to learn. I am patient and diligent, and I will help you understand and enjoy the subject.
I have led reading groups and Language Arts classes. I have taught music lessons to a variety of ages and I have taught Music Theory and History at the collegiate level. My mother has been a teacher for 35 years and I have always enjoyed helping her in the classroom. I have a Master of Music and Professional Artist Certificate from the North Carolina School of the Arts.

Currently I am employed part time at Oakley Elementary as a Title I Reading Assistant.During my days at Oakley, I tutor small groups in reading.I recently graduated from Kent State University in December of 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Along with my degree, I hold a Professional Educator’s License in North Carolina for grades Pre-K-6 as well as a Reading Endorsement.During my time as a student at Kent State, I was able to have many small group tutoring opportunities; most of which consisted of reading, writing, and math.
