I have lead many training sessions dealing with a multitude of different topics. I do my homework, and make sure I am fully prepared before any training session. I want to make sure I know the answers to any possible question before the questions are asked. I have tutored students one-on-one and in small groups from different levels of math to every aspect of English, grammar, and writing. I have taught many classes in painting and drawing, and I am a constant student of all areas of art, including photography.
My personal style of learning is to learn by doing. I get my students involved in any process and get them to actually do the work so they learn it from experience, not just reading about it and taking for granted they know what is going on. With my degree and certification, I am highly qualified to teach students in grades K-6 in all subject areas. In addition to my degree, I received training for AMSTI and ARI which are in use in many schools statewide. I have a great deal of experience working in inclusion classrooms. Having taught students in each ability grouped program of education, I am aware of the importance of adjusting teaching methods for each student. Beyond my experience in an elementary environment, I have been tutoring high school and college students beginning 9 years ago. I have experience tutoring high school and college students in Algebra I & II, Trigonometry, Chemistry, and Geometry. I feel very comfortable tutoring adults and children alike.
