Inspired Educational Help!

I consider myself a very patient tutor, which I think is essential to the process. That said, I usually offer the student a few options in which to learn the material. I then let them decide which option makes the most sense to them. A Little Bit About Me...

I love children and I am a patient and caring teacher. My mother is an educational diagnostician and an expert on learning disabilities and different learning styles. As a result I believe I have special insight into the way children learn and I can adapt my teaching style to fit the individual needs of each child I tutor.
In high school I took AP calculus classes, earning college credit and fulfilling the math requirement for my undergraduate degree. I tutored my peers in math while earning my BBA in finance, and taking elective classes in accounting and economics. I also worked for a tutoring service, helping high school students with math and SAT and ACT prep. I am currently a candidate in the Certified Financial Analyst program.

A Little Bit About Me...

My background includes a Bachelor's degree in history and economics supplemented with minors in math, music, and secondary education. I have taught high school American History and tutored economics, algebra, geometry, and calculus. I particularly enjoy working with older students who are highly motivated and focused. A Little Bit About Me...

Having been a lacrosse coach for the past five years will really help me assist every person I tutor in reaching his/her goals. Every child is different, and I have found that finding out how a child learns is just as important, if not more important, than the subject material itself. I am a big believer in setting goals and having a concrete plan as to how we are going to reach those goals. I consider myself a patient person, but I can also see when it may be necessary to push a student who I know can do better for themselves. I try to make things interesting because I also know that if a student takes a vested interest in a subject he/she will be more likely to retain the material.
