As an engineer I try to show the practical application of concepts, and from my interests in history and literature I try to provide an historical context to the development of the concept being taught. I believe in the innate ability of all students to learn, although of course not all learn at the same pace - I believe the key is to relate the subject matter to the student's life experiences and thus make the connection where learning is possible.
