A Little Bit About Me...

Earned a bachelor's degree/Master's degree in elementary education. Substituting in the elementary school in the community I grew up in. Relocated and continued my career as a second grade teacher at an inner city school for three years. I have tutored for a leading company where I was trained and certified to provide students of all ages, grades, and skill levels in reading, math, homework help, study skills to help them succeed in school and life. Also, I provided tutoring for SAT/ACT prep. I never set out to work with children but after I was hired to be a teacher assistant for young children with autism I can’t imagine doing anything else. I am a very patient person and I strive to bring a light hearted, fun approach to working with students. I believe that learning should be educational but at the same time fun and engaging. The biggest rewards for me personally have been the smallest breakthroughs when working with children especially those with special needs.

I have several years experience working with children and adults in the education field. The students I have taught at the college level ranged from late teens to early 30s. As I have worked with such a wide range of ages I am familiar with the needs of students in each age group I have taught.
