I teach by example, leading the student through a problem by asking questions about each step so that they can learn how to approach the problem themselves. I watch and evaluate the students as they work and provide guidence when thy make errors. I enjoy interacting with children of all ages and I do so in a kind and curteous manner. In my acedemic training I have taught Lab classes in general, analytical, organic, biochemistry and advanced chemistry courses. With over 15 years of corporate work history as a Materials Science Engineer I possess a wealth of experience in research and end-use applications. That experience is enhanced by a foundation in mathematics and advanced sciences from the number four engineering school in the nation. During my years at Rocky Mountain College, I not only gained my degree in Literature with a minor in writing, but I also began teaching. As a student, I tutored an adorable foreign exchange student for a semester. I also served as a senior editor to the student publication Soliloquy, in which I selected, edited, and arranged writing pieces in the journal. I was also the dorm paper advisor, charging only a box of Chewy Chips Ohoy cookies for my paper editing skills, answering questions as to why you needed a period there instead of the never ending run-on sentence. After graduating, I stayed on at the college as the Activities Director and taught 3 freshman orientation classes.
