I have experience teaching and tutoring at various levels and locations, including several countries. Am flexible as to learning materials and methods depending on your time, availability, budget and resources. My main concern is how YOU can learn and retain better. Each student must understand (before integrating) their own strengths and weaknesses into their study skills and become a systematic achiever. I will assist and teach you how to empower yourself in the chosen topics. You will gain confidence in what you know (where you can excel), who you are (what drives you), what you really want (what profession/path/trade inspires you), and how to get where you want to be by creating and implementing a step to step plan to your goal(s)/success.

My comments on tutoring Logic : Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. Logic was one of my easier subjects.

Worked about the last 20 years in the actuarial field (short stint away to get my degree), which involves data analysis in excel and access and some programming. I received my bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a minor in statistics in December of 1998. While in school I graded lower division math papers for my teachers, I taught a basic programming language as well as ran a classroom for a virtual teacher (video taped class)
I believe the best way to learn is hands on experience. If I don't find one way to help the student understand I will do my best to try another approach. I have 3 kids under 10, so I am patient with small children, but I expect them to be focused.

My comments on tutoring Logic : As part of my degree in linguistics I studied logic & symbolic logic as well as semantics.

Graduated with honors in 2010 from SDSU with a BA in Linguistics and an TESL certificate. I double-minored in History and Geography. Worked at American Language Institute (ALI) before and after graduation as a facilitator (assistant instructor). Graduated from Mesa Community College in 2007 with an associates degree in Social Science.
I take a systematic "nuts and bolts" approach that gives the student the basic building blocks so that they may become a partner in the integrative learning process that involves figuring out how to properly structure, connect & apply these integrations to form new building blocks, and so on to wider & wider integrations & applications.

I have always believed, in order to be a good teacher, you must teach to the varying needs of students and realize, not all children learn the same way. I am very versatile in my teaching strategies- if a program isn't working, I rely on data and feedback to adjust my teaching. I am also very creative and will strive to make learning challenging and fun!
I have always enjoyed working with kids- it is rewarding to see young students experience the learning process. I've been a special education teacher for the past 3 years in a large school district in Omaha, Nebraska. There, I worked with all types of students with varying learning styles and disabilities. I lead many interventions and small groups in the areas of behavior skills, reading comprehension, writing, grammar and mathematics. I am trained in several intervention programs such as Do The Math, ABLLS, and Start-In. I alread ... read more

NO MORE COMMENT(S)!!!

I tarted tutoring Mathematics when I was a sophomore at College myself.I believe when one reads all the previous detailed information that I have given about my former "Discovery Teaching" and other related experience in Mathematics instruction ,training, and publications, at and for ALL LEVELS, it should be relatively evident that I AM ABLE TO PERFORM WELL as a tutor/Teacher/Instructor of the mentioned Mathematical topics. I have taught almost all Secondary schools, including ALL Mathematical topics and LEVELS(Elementary - "Socratic Method & Positive Reinforcement" Techniques, Secondary, Pre-College, College and University). I have my own unique method of instruction which was named earlier, an instruction mode that energizes, builds self-confidence and self reliance, and also, positive approach to discovering and learning Mathematics. In summary, I have taught Mathematics to students o ... read more

Break into the fierce of math ...

I am an Electrical Engineer with a tutoring experience on math in all levels from 6th to senior level. I have had the pleasure of growing in n educated family with mymom being a teacher and my dad was an engineer. From the begining of my schooli days, I had the way of challenging myself in different fields of math and physics. Exploring and learning higher levels of topics in these two fields made me achieve very high levels of education among amongst same age people.
Break into the fierce of math and make it a pleasent hobby.

My comments on tutoring Logic : Not sure what class this is, but I am a good logical thinker

I have just finished junior year of high school and will be a senior this fall. Throughout my life I have always been especially good at math. I never fail to get an A in math every year. In 10th grade I decided to skip Pre-Calculus from Algebra 2 to AP Calculus BC when I enter 11th grade. Interestingly, I still found AP Calculus BC to be relatively easy. I am the vice president of a tutor club at La Costa Canyon High School. I teach students after school all subjects. I also tutored students outside of school. During my junior year I tutored a girl in Pre-Algebra who did not understand how graphs work. I also tutored a high-schooler in Pre-Calculus two weeks ago who had a final in two days. I came to his house and tutored him for a total of 15 hours (he needed lots of help) in those two days.
Very patient. Usually I will explain the concept, present a practice problem, ... read more

All of us are in a continuous learning mode, even if we are not in a formal learning environment. I like to emphasize that fact to students, and my approach to instruction focuses on the enjoyment and practicality of the subject matter. If a student learns to gain satisfaction from solving problems, tutoring will take a back seat to self-motivated learning. My enthusiasm for learning eventually transfers to the students with whom I work. By focusing on problem-solving related to everyday activities, I strive to eliminate common abstract perspectives about subjects such as math, computer science, and writing, and help students see that applied learning is all around them.
Technically, I have been involved in education in some capacity all of my life. Professionally, I have been a public school classroom instructor, a college adjunct professor, an instructional designer/developer ... read more

As a graduate of PLNU, I always new that I wanted the challenge to teach High school. I have always been driven in education, whether is it working with youth in a camp setting or a class room setting. I feel that not everyone works well in a class room and that is okay. I have developed my writing and grammar skills extensively due to my position as a Deputy Sheriff Detention's and Courts. I have tutored many students mostly elementary. I also was called in as a tutor, but to motivate students to do their homework and stay focused. I have tutored in multiple subject areas including, mathematics, science, english, reading, writing and I also have privately coached many sports on the side including basketball, softball, tennis, and soccer.

I have a bachelor degree in Biology, which I have an understanding in many areas of science. In college I was a teaching assistant for my advisor's Biology 100 laboratory class. I have also tutored a student in Statistics for an academic year.
I believe that education is very important and students should understand what they are studying the best way possible. I have been through the tough teachers, so I know how difficult it is for students to understand the material sometimes. I am able to break material down in the simplest form and will make sure that a student will fully understand a topic before moving on to something else. I have been able to get students to enjoy science and make them strive to learn more.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have the ability to get down to whatever level my students are at, and get them to blossom. This talent is not just in a class subject, but in all aspects of life. I particularly like bringing knowledge to those that have been left behind, and thought they never had a chance. The spark in their eyes when they finally get it is a wonderful feeling. Most of my teaching has been in technical fields, but I have also taught economics, government and life skills to clueless individuals that became good citizens.
I have been teaching employees in technical fields for over 20 years. I thought about becoming a teacher, but hate unions. English was my best subject and in Chapman College, I was the only student to ever ace the grammar test. I have written tech manuals, my communication skills are excellant. I trained Mexicans to use complex computer programs (in Spanish) in my last job. I a ... read more

For eight years, I taught freshman and sophomore-level mathematics courses at Arizona State University. These courses included College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Finite Mathematics, and Elementary Mathematics Theory. Additionally, I have tutored students in these courses both in the Mathematics Department Tutor Center, and on my own personal time.
My teaching style has been, for the most part, dictated by student response. I am comfortable teaching in a traditional lecture format, in a format that uses a cooperative learning approach exclusively, or in a hybrid format. The goal is for effective learning to take place, and I believe my strongest quality is to be able to adapt in such a way that best helps students reach their academic goals.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy both the one on one mentoring and also engaging students in small groups and as an entire classroom. The one on one mentoring gives me a feel for the best way for that particular student to learn, therefore I can adjust my teaching style to their strengths.
I really enjoy working with students and I feel that education is the most important aspect of an individuals life. I have taught at John W. North High School in Riverside, Ca. One of my assignments was to fill in for an AP Statistics teacher while she was on maternity leave. Since that day I have feel in love with biostatistics and took all of my graduate level electives in Biostatistics courses.

I am a synthetic Organic Chemist with over 7 years of industrial experience with Pfizer Inc. During this time period I routinely shared research progress with my peers and helped educate them on new reactions, instrumentation, techniques and methodology. During my studies at Kalamazoo College, I successfully completed some coursework in Education and have always wanted to pursue a career in Teaching/Tutoring. My Liberal Arts background encouraged a well-rounded education that included English, Spanish, History, Science, Mathematics, and the Arts.
I am a patient teacher that understands that some concepts are not easily understood and simply repeating yourself without changing your tack will not bring about understanding. Providing real world examples that are relevant to a student's interests is one powerful way to encourage learning. With regards to math and science, I've oft ... read more
