I became interested in teaching while I was working at Delphi Automotive. I trained my own staff while I was there. I have chosen to be a teacher because I believe I can make learning fun for my students. I like to relate subjects to each other so that students can see how everything is actually intertwined. I like to use direct instruction, cooperative learning, peer coaching, manipulatives, simulations, and technology. I believe that teachers need to use a variety of methods to facilitate learning. I graduated from Ohio University in 1978 with a BS in Education. I went on to earn a Masters degree in Educational Administration. I hold two valid permanent teaching certificates and a professional license. I have been fortunate to have taught all grades and all subjects with the exception of 1st, 3rd, and 4th. I have also had the pleasure of being an ABLE instructor for adults. I am currently teaching high school, however have been offered a 4th grade position in math and science. I have worked with gifted, regular, and special education students. I continue to take classes at Ohio and Ashland University. Also, I am a Teaching Fellow for the Historical Society.
