A Little Bit About Me...

I became interested in teaching while I was working at Delphi Automotive. I trained my own staff while I was there. I have chosen to be a teacher because I believe I can make learning fun for my students. I like to relate subjects to each other so that students can see how everything is actually intertwined. I like to use direct instruction, cooperative learning, peer coaching, manipulatives, simulations, and technology. I believe that teachers need to use a variety of methods to facilitate learning. I believe that with my experience I can truly make a difference in the lives of students. During my years at The Ohio State University, I earned a B.A. in Psychology, and completed a year and a half of Masters work in Social Work. After completing my B.A., I was hired as a professional tutor. I tutored college students in various subjects including English and essay writing, Psychology, Reading, some Spanish, and Social Studies.
I love working with children, and feel that I can relate to them because I struggled in my early school years.
