Specifically, the education business industry developing a national education program with curriculum for elementary children in the area of character education. In addition, I have a strong background as a radio/television reporter, holding degree work in both history and communications. My specialty is English, grammar, copywriting, and research. I have worked with JROTC students working to pass their national inspections in the area of briefings. I am comfortable assisting both youth and adult learners. I don't think I have really developed a "unique style" by only teaching a year or so. I am a very patient person and I really like to see the "sparkle" in a students eye, when they truly understand something for the 1st time. I like to explain a concept and then give the student a problem and see if they get it. If not, I will go over as many times necessary...until they understand the material. I have a recent Bachelor's in Accounting, as well as 15+ years of accounting experience in both private and non-profit settings. While working I continued studying and earned my license to practice public accounting in April, 2010 by passing all parts of the CPA exam. During my time at Miami, I was employed by the University as a Supplemental Instructor (SI). As an SI, I provided regularly scheduled, out-of-class sessions in a beginning accounting class and realized that I had the ability to help others learn.
