A Little Bit About Me...

I am very easy to communicate with and I am very outgoing. I firmly believe that anyone can make music if they understand that it requires some practice and some desire to learn. I love seeing a child's face light up when they learn how to play a piece of music or make a sound on an instrument; it is a phenomenal feeling. I felt that I was cheated out of my music education so I try to make it my goal to make sure I do not do the same to other young people.
Upon earning my International Baccalaureate diploma in high school, I immediately decided teaching music was what I wanted to do. As a music teacher, I have am well schooled and enjoy teaching all instruments as well as vocal music. I have a thourough knowledge of music and can teach reading, theory, basic improvisation, and technique on virtually band instruments. I currently play the trumpet and sing in church and I love wrking with students at all levels. I have a master's degree in school counseling and can help students apply for scholarships and grants and help them find a school that is suitable to their individual needs and career interests. I can also do career testing and planning to help students determine what their goals and aspirations are and a path to follow to meet these goals.
