Vocals is one of my top subjects!

Throughout all my years in school, I was a Choir student. I was in my school's top varsity choirs and took a few years of music theory. I would help other students prepare for competitions, or simply help them with other things, whether it was vocal issues or things like reading music. I know much about both Classical Training and Contemporary Training. Also, I tutored many classmates in math, whether it was during my math class, during my lunch period, or after school hours, helping my teachers with giving after school tutoring.
Whether it's Musical help or Mathematical help that's needed, I like to realize the difficulties students are having. Then, together with them, I'll break down the problem, finding the source of confusion or difficulty they're having. My experience ranges over a span of 22 years as a Preschool/Pre-K Teacher, Preschool Asst. Director, YMCA After School Site Director, After School Tutor, Elementary School Instructional Aide, Sign Language Interpreter, Special Ed. Tutor. I earned an AA degree in Liberal Studies, a certificate in Sign Language and earned a BA degree in Psychology.
I have known since I was 5 years old that I wanted to teach and work with young children. I am most happy in a classroom atmosphere and believe children learn best through variety of techniques and mediums. My philosophy has and continues to be that all things are possible with a good education and that learning occurs best when given many types of hands on (Discovery) experiences and a positive learning environment. My goal is to have a positive impact on my students both educationally and in their self-confidence.
