My main goal in teaching is not to have the student simply memorize the necessary content in order to achieve an A in the course but it is rather to impart the student with an understanding of the underlying concepts so that they may build upon this knowledge. Understanding the coursework will allow the student to excel in other synthetic classes and enable them to manipulate, construct, and critically think regarding the subject. The University of Florida has provided me with a well rounded education, and I feel myself knowledgable in many areas, from languages like french, spanish and hindi, to the sciences like chemistry, biology, and physics. I worked directly with middle school children who had ADD, ADHD as well as other physical handicaps including Cerebral Palsy.
