A Little Bit About Me...

Although I value my college degree in biology and formal education, my real love for learning and teaching has been honed over the years teaching my own kids at home. I've homeschooled them in every general subject for the last eight years. I have developed a love and knowledge for history, government, the sciences, writing, and mathematics up through algebra. I feel confident in tutoring childen in these topics up through the high school years. I have experience teaching children with attention deficit problems and high energy levels.

I tutored math in college for 3 years, mainly algebra and trigonometry. I received a BS in Mathematics with a secondary education certificate. I was a substitute math teacher for seventh and eighth grade pre-algebra classes for 10 weeks. Afterwards, I had various jobs in finance. During the last eight years I have tutored my children in math (kindergarten to seventh grade). I have also tutored a middle school student in pre-algebra and a young adult in basic math related to welding. Currently I am a woodworker and co-owner of a custom woodworking business.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated with honors from Eastern Washington University and began teaching in the public school in Newport. During the three years with that school district, I tutored during the summers, usually in reading and writing, though I have tutored math, history, and science as well.
