I have 20 years experience in the marines, so I have a no nonsense approach to teaching and tutoring. My own two children (boys, now grown) will tell you that despite my military bearing, I am patient and understanding with kids. I have earned two masters, one in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) and the other in Educational Leadership. I hold a Florida certification for ESE with English Speakers of other Languages (ESOL) endorsement. In addition to college courses I have completed College Board’s Springboard training and have successfully used it to help students increase test scores. I have taught all subject areas in middle school ESE settings for six years in a variety of classroom models.
I am very passionate about helping students learn. It is my belief that each student has his/her own learning style in which they process information. I believe in the use of technology and various hands on manipulative to increase learning ability.
