I use a variety of teaching styles, i.e cooperative learning, learning centers, interactive learning, sight and tactile learning. The school system I am in emphasizes Differentiated Instruction. I believe I make a difference in student's lives both educationally and as a role model.
My experience as a teacher began when I was in the U.S. Navy, I was an Financial and Department Training instructor. After retiring from the Navy I went to work in the school system as a security assistant. After one year I resigned and went to Norfolk State University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a major concentration in Learning Disabled and a minor in Emotionally Disturbed. Ten years later I earned a Master's Degree in Education from Cambridge College. In the absence of the primary instructor I provide an enhanced learning environment with stimulating and thought provoking conversation. It is my sole purpose to maintain a structured and enjoyable environment for effective learning. Lastly, I utilize the opportunity to work with the youth as method of learning from them as much as they learn from me and my ventures.
I use a unique technique of incorporating visual, audio, and kinesthetic methods in an integrated approach. Additionally, I use a method of conceptual questioning, and analytical thinking skills. Furthermore, expanding the students grammar, diction, and word usage are all important in my tactics.
