I have been training students in the Microsoft Office applications since they were released almost thirty years ago. I've developed and marketed training materials nationwide, and am the author of Excel Basic Training, Excel VBA Basic Training, and Word Basic Training. For writing, usually I conduct some exercises. The level of the critique and what to say depends heavily on the age of the student. For grammar, I would either find or create my own practice materials and we could go over whatever is necessary until I've decided that the student is making improvements or the student has succeeded.
