I love and respect all children and try to meet them where they are. I am very perceptive at times and don't give up easy. If one thing doesn't work, I'd try another. I believe in good education that develops the person, not just prepare them to contribute to society and to make a living.
Along with 7 other students, I was directly hired out of college to teach 7th grade English. Along with my 4 years of Latin experience, it increased my abilities in the grammatical aspect of the English language. I also tutored college students while I was attending in first yr Latin and math. I took 4 yrs of French in high school, graduated Shenendehowa in 1974. I enjoy working with kids in small groups or one on one. I am a mother of 11 children, the youngest is now 7. I also believe I could assist a first year algebra student or younger.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have quite alot of experience in the filed of education. I was very driven to attain my degree and I also attained a minor in Psychology. I earned an Associates degree in Human Services, and a BS degree in the field of Special Education with a minor in Psychology. It was in the area of Special Education that I was able to broaden that degree to help a larger spectrum of children. I have tutored children with learing disabilities in the area of reading and writing. I have also had the oppurtunity to work with an agency in the area of Social Work. I am a pursuer of hard work and performance. I have a double major and a singular bachelor degrees and a master's in literacy as language is very important to me. I have taught and worked as a substitute teacher in the public school system for the last 25 years. I also play the piano, keyboard and organ. A Little Bit About Me...

I try to involve as many senses as I can when illustrating new concepts and ideas. Math manipulatives are essential elements for early math comprehension. Whenever a game can help solidify ideas, it is utilized and learning is always fun. Children reach benchmarks, such as reading independently and math computation at different rates, so it's important to be consistent but very patient and encouraging. A solid reading foundation is the greatest gift our children can receive. Comprehension is a key factor to understanding any subject at all.
Prior to homeschooling my six children, I worked as a Research Assistant at the Schriner's Burn Institute in Boston, and then at Darmouth College Medical School in Hanover, NH. A Little Bit About Me...

I as ordained a Priest in 2004 but have twenty years of teaching from vocal/piano to languages. I am bilingual growing up with a father from Quebec,Canada and can easily tutor in French in both dialects. I can also tutor literature and reading. I love working with young people and see that as part of my ministry. And while my faith is extremely important to me, I am not looking to convert others. I just want the opportunity to help young people of any age.
My style of teaching asks the student to do his or her best and will help them find that level in a fun and friendly manner. I am patient and understanding and believe that with a joke and a laugh, learning can truly be gained and cherished...not drudgery! We will have fun and get the job done!!
