Sign Language is one of my top subjects! I am an American Sign Language Interpreting Education Student at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf. I have been taking sign language classes for four years, and have had the opportunity to fully immerse myself in Deaf culture.

I am working on degrees in Political Science and American Sign Language Interpreting Education at the Rochester Institute of Technology/National Technical Institute for the Deaf. I am a good student and do well, particularly in Liberal Arts classes. On campus I have worked both as a note taker for the Department of Access Services and as a Liberal Arts tutor. I am a hands on kind of teacher. I like to find ways to make teaching come to life and be a fun and enjoyable experience for the student. The more one on one I can be the better. I think you can be a better teacher when you know and understand your students more. I still maintain a great relationship with girls I counseled at camp back in 2001 and 2002. I love learning and the precision arts such as mathematics. This has driven me to begin in a computer career. I spent almost two decades applying my computer skills. Learning has never stopped for me. But then I love the outdoors and working with my hands. I have taught myself the carpentry trade and the concrete business. I started out by sitting down with the manuals and memorized the building codes before I built my own house. Recently I applied mathematics to a roof I was building. I was home-schooled until the sixth grade with my three brothers. I completed junior high at a private school and then graduated Salutatorian from a public high school. My parents operated a small day care that I worked in with school age children completing homework assignments. I have also worked in a Day Care as a caregiver for small children.
