I try to teach conversationally and help students get comfortable with the process of doing the problems over just giving the answers. I tend to go with asking questions as a default--I've found it really helps learning, especially with classes like math that are more about understanding the process than regurgitating answers--but during those times we all have when you have no idea where to start, I'm happy to explain it out! My main goal is to help build confidence. Math can suck and it's not everyone's thing, but it often sounds a lot more complicated than it is too. I was asked to apply for an undergraduate teaching assistant position at The University of Montana. The following year, I assisted in the laboratory sections of Anatomy and Physiology, teaching basic biology and advanced anatomy and physiology (A&P). While attending college I was apart of many different study groups. In such study groups we would teach each other the information we needed to learn. Through this I interacted with many students teaching many things in many different styles.
