My comments on tutoring Chemistry : I can help with High School or College General Chemistry.

I have done private tutoring of high school students in math from pre-algebra to calculus and in other subjects. I have also home schooled adopted daughters from lower grades to high school level, including teaching English as a second language. In graduate school I was a teaching assistant in an electric machinery laboratory for non-electrical engineering majors. My own experience with standardized tests includes having taken the ACT in 1971 with scores ranging from 22 (76th percentile) in English to 31 (97th percentile) in math with a composite of 27 (93rd percentile) and having passed the GRE in 1975. When I came to this country, one of my goals was to succeed and the first thing that I needed to do was to learn the English language the correct way. I enrolled in ESOL classes and was determined to master the language. I obtained a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida, and then a Masters degree from Phoenix University. Although my degrees are in Business Administration; I have a strong background in essays and composition skills. My main goal in teaching is not to have the student simply memorize the necessary content in order to achieve an A in the course but it is rather to impart the student with an understanding of the underlying concepts so that they may build upon this knowledge. Understanding the coursework will allow the student to excel in other synthetic classes and enable them to manipulate, construct, and critically think regarding the subject. I have taught many students ranging from freshman to seniors at the college level and can be dynamic enough to cater to each of their learning styles whether they learn pictorially, verbally, with power point etc.
