Using Technology and Simplicity to Explain Difficult Topics

I understand A&P is a very frustrating topic at first. However, what I like to show everyone is we already come in with a great understanding of familiarity of this topic, since we live it every day. What I try to do for the topics that seem very complex is break them down into easy to understand points. For example, I discuss how blood flowing through the vessels is like water flowing through a garden hose. The water pressure is similar to blood pressure, etc. I always do my best to organize material in a thorough manner and adapt to the learning pace of the student. My main goal in teaching is not to have the student simply memorize the necessary content in order to achieve an A in the course but it is rather to impart the student with an understanding of the underlying concepts so that they may build upon this knowledge. Understanding the coursework will allow the student to excel in other synthetic classes and enable them to manipulate, construct, and critically think regarding the subject.
