My comments on tutoring Algebra : I am KY and TN state certified in middle school math. I taught developmental math and college math at two year colleges. I tutor Algebra most every day. I tutor middle and high school students who are challenged by the Algebra coursework. I coach future college students who need assistance on the math sections of the ACT. I'm great at explaining basic Algebra concepts in multiple ways, so students can fully grasp the concepts.

I am a tutor and test prep coach. I am KY and TN state certified in middle school math. I prepare students for the ACT and Praxis core and content exams, including the Praxis core (math, reading, and writing), Praxis 5018 (elementary education content knowledge), Praxis 5169 (middle school math), and Praxis 5001 (elementary education multiple subjects). It is very important to assess what the student already knows and the level of understanding they hold at the beginning. It is also important to make sure that what they know is correct and that they are not confused or misunderstanding the material. After which, getting to know the individual style of learning for each student will insure that time is used efficiently and that the student is understanding and retaining the material being taught. Working one-on-one is the best teaching method; however, when that is not possible, working in small groups is also very effective.
