I've been told I have a great capacity for making complex ideas more understandable. This is why students seeking Math help at my University would ask for me specifically, I can take a complicated concept and explain it in a way that makes it seem much simpler, and when one approach doesn't work, I go again from a different direction. My goal is always to make the student understand the process and reasoning, not just memorize a method. I am approachable and patient, and I can adapt to any learning style. As a mother of two, I understand not only the importance of learning to read but the process involved. Each child has a different learning style and speed, and as a tutor it is important to be agile - teaching to individual needs. I believe in allowing children to learn through discovery, while providing guidance and correction as needed.
