A Little Bit About Me...

I was awarded a BA, Social Sciences, in December, 2000. Upon relocation to kansas city, Missouri, in 2001, I began training in a teacher education program, 2003, Kansas City Missouri school district, earning teacher certification, Adult Basic Education,2003. Such included teaching GED related courses,2003-2007, and substitute teaching, k-12. I also served in telemarketing for both the Kansas City Star Newspaper and the Nelson Gallery of Art, 2002-2009. Current employment:full-time as an Interventionist at Manhattan High School, Manhattan, Kansas, as of January, 2010. Teacher certification is a lifetime membership, Missouri, and teacher certification in Kansas:Substitute Certificate, through July, 2010

I taught elementary Art, P.E., and library class. In addition, I taught a 12th grade Transitions course, for a year in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. I frequently helped kids with their homework after school, as needed. I volunteered as a 3rd grade Sunday School teacher for a year. I have a bachelor's and master's degree in Social Work.
I am a student-oriented teacher and am willing to do all I can to make learning approaches applicable to each child’s needs.
