A Little Bit About Me...

Generally in my experience I have a higher level of understanding of basic principles than my peers. This puts me in a position of frequently helping others understand subtleties of the material. There are many different ways of understanding any one concept, it is just a matter of finding one that relates to the particular student's experience or thought process. I simply try to find a way for the student to understand the material, and clarify any of the questions they may have.
I graduated from the University of Vermont with a BS in Physics. I am currently a graduate student at SUNY Albany in the Physics Ph.D program. As a recent graduate of Syracuse University (December 2009) with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, I am very familiar with the concepts taught in most Mathematics and Physics courses. I was a peer tutor for two years at Syracuse tutoring in the following subjects: Calculus I, II, and III, Probability, Statistics, Differential Equations, Physics I and II, Thermodynamics, and Fluid Mechanics. I have several years experience working with children and adults in the education field. The students I have taught at the college level ranged from late teens to early 30s. As I have worked with such a wide range of ages I am familiar with the needs of students in each age group I have taught.
