Unique Tutor

Substitue teacher and esl tutor for the past 4 years. I worked with various classes from Algebra to IEP classes and ESL, from Science to Social studies and everything in between. I taught classes and did not hand out worksheets. My rules in class were, you dont waste a class period. I used litle tricks to make sure they did not waste time and actually learned from me. My students often come up to me when they see me in public to say I was their favorite sub. I started off in Art Education as a major but left to go into Marketing. The IEP classes and learning disabled classes allowed me to work one on one with students which I enjoyed.

Government is one of my top subjects!

My teaching style is best described as Project based and differential instructions. I do not believe that students learn the same ways and need different teaching strategies to learn. In my class you can see multiple products of learning based on this approach to teaching. My style carries over into the private tutoring I provide.
I have been teaching since 2005. My career began in Las Vegas, Nevada teaching 7th grade U.S. History at Sedway Middle School followed by Hyde Park Middle School (2005-2010). When I first attended Wilmington College, I was in early childhood education. I completed a whole semester of student teaching and volunteered for tutoring after school. I finally had decided that teaching was not for me because I wanted more of an office setting job so i decided to major in business management. I have decided that I want to pursue in subsitute teaching so that I am able to help children and spend more time with my newborn.
Nothing is better than seeing a huge smile on a child's face once they cath on to something. I love helping children learn by doing a lot of visual activities and practicing! I was always the only person who could help my younger sister study for tests because she said my teaching techinique is very helpful and makes her remember things.
