My teaching experience includes several semesters of substitute teaching, and tutoring locally for 2+ years as a part-time job, dirived from volunteering as a tutor for family members and friends. As a tutor, it is my job to help students with whatever it is they are struggling in and turn their struggles to successes. I specialize in working with those who want to become better readers - comprehension, fluence, vocabulary, phonics and spelling are all key to becoming a better reader. Patience is one word to describe my teaching style. My main objective is to work with students on goal-setting and then concentrate on how to meet those goals.

I am a current student at UNLV earning my dual Bachelor degrees in Marketing and Health Care Administration. During my time as a student I have helped tutor my brother and friends in various subjects from English to Math. I have been able to develop my grammatical skills through extensive report and research papers and many communications and writing classes. I believe children learn through experiences. I encourage children to work through what they are having difficulties with and guide them through the correct process. I believe just telling a child what to do doesn't actually give them an opportunity to process everything completely. That is why when I work with children I am patient and adjust the environment to each child's unique learning techniques.
