A Little Bit About Me...

I am very patient and reassuring to students and wait for them to get the answer on their own when tutoring mathematics. I show them how to do it first, then let them try, and then re-explain. We would continue this repetitively with different problems until they can do it independently. It is also important to listen very carefully as to what they are saying.

While in attendance at the University of Arkansas, I earned two degrees, a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in American Studies. In addition to these degrees, I also earned a minor in History. As I was completing my undergraduate degree, I participated in varsity athletics, maintained a part-time job, was active in student government, and volunteered through AAO. I enjoy teaching and working with children of all ages. I feel any person regardless of age can learn. Each learns to their own preferred learning style. First, an analysis of student skills must be taken to ensure foundational skills are sufficient. Next, students need an explanation of new material; I prefer a hands-on approach.
