I have previously worked in a laboratory where I had the opportunity to work with students rotating through my laboratory for school credit. I was an adjunct clinical instructor with the Department of Biotechnology and Clinical Laboratory Sciences with University at Buffalo. Although some students were only there two weeks, most were there three to five months, and it was my responsibility to show them all the analyses that were performed in my laboratory, as well as make sure they understood the theory behind the analyses. Children can become unfocused very easily. When children are distracted it may be very difficult to get them focused. Taking your time and making sure they refocus, can actually save time.
