As a graduate from the State University of New York at Albany, I am driven to achieve the highest level of excellence in education especially in the following generations. I have received a BA in Chemistry and Pre-Med. These degrees have enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of science, math, and english. I graduated Cum Laude from Manhattan College with a double major in Psychology and Communications. In addition to studying for two majors, I was also a Division 1 athlete and held 2 jobs. Seeing as I was very busy with extracirricular activities, I believe that my graduating with honors was truly a testament to how hard I worked. My approach to teaching/tutoring is simple. 1) Make an assessment of the student’s needs. This is a critical part of the methodology. The assessment of needs is based upon the student’s own statement of his abilities as well as empirical evidence of his performance and capabilities. 2) Develop a plan and design goals to meet those needs. Explain to the student the plan and the goals of how we are going to meet his/her needs. 3) Assess performance and adjust the plan and goals as needed. 4) Throughout the process, keep in mind that both the tutor and the student should have an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
