I was a "class teacher" at a friend's daycare part time, and I held a summer job as a lifeguard and swim instructor for many years. A Little Bit About Me...

I spent my undergraduate career preparing to enter Veterinary School. I love the sciences and I thought this was what I wanted to do. After graduation, however, I discovered that this was not the path I was meant to take; I was meant to pass on my love of learning and teach. I entered the education system as a substitute and, after that year, I became a full time high school teacher. I received my Master's in Arts of Teaching while working with home-bound students and at the alternative school in that district. As a home-bound teacher, I taught a variety of subjects. I love that look that you get from a child who gets what you are teaching them. When the light bulb turns on, and you know that they understand the process. That's what makes it all worth it. My teaching style is that with enough work, any child can succeed. They just have to know they matter to the teacher. I am a hands on learner myself so visual tools help me to teach the concepts to students.
I am a graduate of Clemson University, with a BA in Biological Sciences. I have always enjoyed biology since my first AP class my Junior year of high school. After college graduation I worked for six months in a cancer research lab, which gave me the knowledge of "real life" science and how that effects our lives I have worked as an after school and summer camp counselor which has helped me learn how to relate to them, and teach them material they are learning in school.
