I taught and tutored in Japan for 21 years. I was at universities, colleges, corporations, and conversation schools. I was an officer of JALT and published through their journals. In the states I have three online reviews. They can be found at Alibris.com, Amazon.com and Dorrance Publishers. In the states I have had a variety of tutoring experiences and found them interesting and worthwhile. The main aspect of tutoring is that for each individual each situation is different. And I do not consider myself to be against public schooling or against homeschooling. The US teaching arena is much more competitive outwardly than Japan, so sometimes one steps on sharp rocks and tries not to slip. But so far, so good..My students have been successful and reached their goals..
I am keen on students taking part actively in any lesson be it at high level academics or beginning literacy.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am in college as a senior this year. I am very good in Math and English. I took five semesters of French and still keep up with it every chance I can. I have tutored in pre-calculus with friends and helped a few in algebra. I adore math, to me it is simplistic and just one large logical problem. I am a seasoned veteran in Education. I taught for 28 years, and was a school counselor for 7 years. For the past 2 1/2 years I have been a substitute teacher, tutor for 5th graders, and part-time counselor for PreK - 5th grade at different Elementary schools in Corpus Christi, TX. A Little Bit About Me...

Achieving a BA in history from TAMUCC has taught me to peer further into investigations of any sort. It has provided me with the tools that allow me to critically analyze situations and arguments. Being able to critically analyze different perspectives gives me the ability to discover different conclusions to arguments or problems. This degree has also honed in my reading and writing skills to that of a scholar's level. While attending TAMUCC, I often found my self helping others understand the complex arguments in our philosophy classes. I accredit this to my skills acquired while doing extensive analytical research for history essays theories.

I attended college later in life. Recently, the opportunity arose to better myself. I chose Early Childhood Education and then continued on to obtain my Bachelor's Degree. Following this, I returned to school for Nursing. Eventually, we moved to Texas where I applied,tested and obtained my LCCA License.
While in New York State, I was employed through the Alternative Suspension Program as an LVN. While there,I assisted with the teaching of students. This in turn gave me the opportunity to obtain my certification in Teaching. I remained in this position for two years. During this time, I had my own case load of 5-8 students grade 7-12. Following this position, I was employed at a tutor for those youth who were home bound.
