Prior to receiving my BA in Music, I worked for over twenty years in the medical and pharmaceutical field as a medical transcriptionist, medical biller/coder and pharmaceutical technician. During my early college years, I tutored music students at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, CA and math students. I made a decision to return back to college to pursue a degree. I just recently received my bachelor degree in English literature. I have always been passionate about learning and teaching. Over my four years in college I was able to develop an advanced skill set for both interpreting and writing about literature, culminating in writing a senior thesis interpreting James Joyce’s Ulysses. These skills allowed me to receive the Frank Krutzke award for the best thesis written by a senior English major.
