Each person is different and as a tutor one has to be very empathic, patient, and understanding. By knowing the child you're working with and understanding their way of learning, you can adjust your methods to accommodate them, that way being more effective. As a college graduate, I was ready ti conquer the world with my BA in Communications, but once I begin to think about what I truly wanted to do with my life, I begin to also look into childcare. I begin at USAA Child Development Center for almost two years. I felt so comfortable with the kids and I relished in the fact of being able to mold their minds to learn their abc's and 123'. I knew right then, this is going to be my career. I went on to Hillsborough County Headstart program, where I taught 3-5 year old for almost two yearss as well. I believe that every person AND child should always be told what they are doing WELL as well as what they need to improve on. I make sure never to make the child feel like they did something bad by answering something wrong but to use that as a tool and break it down and simplify it to them so they can relate to it and therefore they will stand a better chance of getting it right in the future by being able to look at it as a common sense thing rather than something they had to memorize.
