It is difficult for me to say which age of student I love working with because each student I have worked with from age 6 - 25 has been very rewarding. I am very patient and work diligently to find creative strategies and approaches to teaching. I graduated from the Honor's College at Xavier University, which required the completion of accelerated courses, even in areas outside my major. I was a Missionary in Panama for fourteen years. Learned Spanish through a two-year course in the country. As a missionary, I went on to teach Literacy and Bible to indigenous peoples there. After coming home stateside, although not certified, I earned extra income by giving classes in English to Hispanics in my home. I also taught English to monolingual Hispanics through an Afterschool program in Northeast Elementary, Jackson, MI. I worked as a Paraeducator in Northeast Elementary, as a General Education Paraeducator, but I often subbed for regular ESL teacher aides in the classroom.
