My teaching style is basic. I feel it is most important for a student to grasp the basics before they can move on to more complicated subject material. I also am a strong believer of parental involvement. A parent knows their children's learning patterns best. I like to use different approaches. A Little Bit About Me...

I started tutoring in 7th grade back in 1976. I have been tutoring my own kids for over 14 years. I have been a Scout leader for over 9 years. I worked with boys ages 5 to 18 years of age. I have brought 2 learning disabled teens into my home to help them graduate High School. Both have gone on to be Certified Welders. I have presided over the Parental Acceptance Committee for both Fremont and all five of WSOS HeadStart Counties and all the centers in the School Districts of those counties. I am working on my Associate in Electronics and Computer Technology. I am also working on 17 IT Certificates and 9 Windows Certificates. After I get my ECT Associate I will start working on my BS in Electrical Engineering.

The 2009-2010 school year will be my third year as a substitute teacher. I have worked with all levels of students, from special needs elementary to AP high school courses, and in both urban and suburban districts. I had some training as an educator in college but have lots of real world experience as well. I have a deep understanding of research strategies and love all of the social sciences. A Little Bit About Me...

As before, since I do not have classroom teaching experience I'm not exactly sure what my style would be. Initially I feel I should explain that I do not stand a strict method. From the people I have tutored before I have learned that you need to adapt to different situations and different needs. Some students need more regimented discipline such as an outline of everything for every day and others need just a general idea of what is required, etc, etc. I am confident, and proud, in the fact that I can adapt to any situation.
