I believe that teaching styles need to be flexible to the student. I have worked with a very wide variety of students, from the severely limited autistic youth to the highly gifted medical student. While approach and focus might vary for the individual or subject matter the essence remains the same. I try to envision at least 3 different ways of approaching a problem, I discuss material but let the students ask questions which I then tailor my explanations toward. I have 20+ years experience in the computer field and I had a 3.0 average in general studies. I have a BS in computer science and an AAS in microcomputer technology. Most of my education was self taught beyond high school. I've also tutored and mentored school age children for approximately four years when in college.
